The District Chief Executive for Ho West, Hon. Profer Francis Dusey, on Tuesday, January 13, 2025, has received a delegation from the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) in the Volta Region led by the Regional Commander, Mr. Worlayo Fianu, alongside the District Officer and Enforcement Officer when they paid a courtesy visit to the District Assembly.
The visit afforded the NACOC officers the opportunity to brief the DCE on the functions and mandate of the Commission, with emphasis on their core responsibility of combating drug trafficking and substance abuse across the country. Particular attention was drawn to the civic education component of NACOC’s work, which plays a vital role in raising public awareness, preventing drug abuse, and protecting communities, especially at border areas.
The engagement also afforded the platform for some staff of the Ho West District Assembly who were present, helping to deepen their understanding of NACOC’s operations and reinforcing the importance of inter-agency collaboration in addressing security and public health challenges.
Hon. Profer Francis Dusey commended the officers for their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to national security. He reaffirmed the Assembly’s readiness to collaborate with NACOC and other security agencies to promote safety, public awareness, and sustainable development within the district.
