HO WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOLDS FIRST ORDINARY MEETING OF THE SECOND SESSION OF THE FOURTH ASSEMBLY

The First Ordinary Meeting of the Second Session of the Fourth Assembly of the Ho West District Assembly was held on Friday, 8th August, 2025, at the District Assembly Hall.

The meeting brought together the Presiding Member, the Hon. Member of Parliament, the Hon. District Chief Executive, Hon. Assembly Members, the District Coordinating Director, and Heads of Departments, Sections, and Units of the Assembly.

Proceedings began with a welcome address by the Presiding Member, Hon. Adamu Kasim Osman. He expressed appreciation to all members and stakeholders for their commitment to the Assembly’s work. The minutes of the previous meeting were corrected where necessary and adopted as a true record of proceedings. Matters arising from the previous minutes were discussed, and updates on pending issues were provided.

The Member of Parliament for Ho West Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, addressed the house, outlining development projects to be undertaken in the district. These initiatives are aimed at improving infrastructure and promoting socio-economic activities to enhance livelihoods. He called for collaborative efforts to drive the district’s development agenda.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Profer Francis Dusey, delivered his sessional address and presented the Coordinated Executive Committee (EXECO) report. His address highlighted critical areas such as tourism development, sanitation and waste management, education, health, revenue mobilization, socio-cultural issues, and annual close season awareness, among others. The reports were thoroughly discussed by Members.

The Public Relations and Complaints Committee (PRCC) also presented its report to the house. Members acknowledged the committee’s critical role in addressing public concerns and ensuring transparency within the Assembly.

Chairpersons from the Town and Area Councils presented their reports, providing updates on activities and challenges within their respective Councils during the period under review.

The 2025 Mid-Year Budget Review and Action Plan Report was presented, deliberated upon, and subsequently approved by the Assembly. Other matters affecting the district’s governance and development were discussed under Any Other Business.

The Hon. Presiding Member thanked all present for their cooperation in ensuring a productive meeting.
