On Tuesday, 28th October 2025, the Office of the Head of the Local Government Service (OHLGS), in collaboration with eSolutions Consulting, organized a one-day training for staff of the Ho West District Assembly on the Smart Workplace platform. The training aimed to equip staff with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively utilize the digital platform to enhance communication, information sharing, document management, and workflow efficiency across all Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
In his welcome address, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Eli Tsikata, described the Smart Workplace initiative as a major step towards digital transformation within the Local Government Service. He noted that the platform would significantly improve work efficiency, transparency, and information management within the Assembly. He therefore encouraged staff to take the training seriously, emphasizing that the knowledge acquired would not only enhance individual performance but also improve overall productivity and service delivery.
The Human Resource Manager, Mr. Bismark Von Golloh, emphasized the importance of the training, noting that it would help the Assembly transition towards a paperless system. He explained that the Smart Workplace platform was designed to reduce the use of paper in official work, improve record management, and make access to information faster and more efficient.
Facilitators took participants through the various features and functions of the Smart Workplace platform, including user registration, email and document management, virtual meeting tools, and workflow processes. Participants also engaged in practical sessions to familiarize themselves with the system’s interface and key applications.
The training was interactive and well-received by staff, who expressed optimism that the in knowledge gained would help streamline operations and enhance coordination within the Assembly.
