HO WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY HOLDS DEVELOPMENT PLANNING AND COORDINATING UNIT (DPCU) MEETING

The Ho West District Assembly held its Development Planning and Coordinating Unit (DPCU) meeting on Wednesday, 14th May 2025, to review the 2024 Annual Performance Reports and the way forward for 2025 from departments, units, and agencies, and also to provide updates on the status of projects and programmes.

In his welcome address, the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Wisdom Kporngor, introduced the newly appointed District Chief Executive, Hon. Profer Francis Dusey, to members of the committee. He encouraged members to extend their full cooperation and support to the DCE to enable him effectively discharge his duties . Mr. Kporngor also reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to supporting departments in delivering on their mandates.

In his maiden address to the committee, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Dusey, expressed gratitude for the warm reception. He emphasized the crucial role of the DPCU in driving the district’s development agenda and called for effective communication, collaboration, and commitment from all departments to enhance service delivery and ensure the efficient implementation of government policies and interventions.

Heads of departments, units, and agencies took turns to present highlights from their 2024 Annual Performance Reports. Following the presentations, members discussed the reports, focusing on performance gaps, key achievements, and challenges encountered during the year under review.

Some of the Departments and agencies present at the meeting included the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ), Complementary Education Agency, National Identification Authority (NIA), National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Ghana Education Service, Centre for National Culture, Human Resource Unit, Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, Physical Planning Department, Central Administration, Works Department, and several others.

The Ag. District Development Planning Officer, Mr. Joel Kwashie-Kojo Sackey presented updates on key infrastructure which included the DCE’s bungalow, Avenui CHPS Compound, Tsito Area Council and the rehabilitation of the 1.8 km Kpedze–Todze–Anagokofe feeder road under GPSNP.

Departments were encouraged to submit timely and accurate reports and maintain updated records on all development activities to strengthen monitoring and evaluation processes.

In his closing remarks, the DCE thanked all participants for their active contributions and reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a coordinated and results-oriented development approach in the district.
