The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ho West District, Hon. Profer Francis Dusey, on Monday, 12th May 2025, paid a working visit to the Kisiflui Market to interact directly with traders, listen to their concerns, and gain firsthand information on the operational challenges within the market. The visit also aimed to explore opportunities for improving revenue mobilization to support local development initiatives.
Prior to touring the market, Hon. Dusey paid a courtesy call on the Chief and elders of Kisiflui, where he appealed for their continued support in fostering community cooperation for accelerated district growth.
Speaking during the engagement, the DCE underscored the strategic importance of Kisiflui Market as one of the district’s key commercial centers that significantly contributes to local economic activity and revenue generation. He reiterated that strengthening revenue mobilization at the local level is critical not only for financing district development projects but also for ensuring sustainable economic growth and improved services for all residents.
Hon. Dusey conducted an inspection of the market stalls, storage facilities, revenue check point and sanitation infrastructure at the market. He also interacted with some of the traders to know their challenges.
Following the tour, he expressed deep concern over significant lapses in the market’s revenue collection system. He stressed that pragmatic measures would be implemented to address these challenges, to improve transparency, enhance accountability mechanisms, and ensure the effective collection of market tolls and levies.
He further assured traders of the Assembly’s commitment to providing a conducive trading environment. He encouraged them to promptly fulfill their revenue obligations, emphasizing that such contributions directly fund developments that benefit the entire trading community.
Accompanying the DCE on the visit were the District Coordinating Director, District Internal Auditor, Revenue Superintendent, Assembly Accountant, Environmental Health and Sanitation Officers and party executives.
