Hon. Francis Profer Dusey, the President’s nominee for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ho West District, has been officially confirmed on Monday, 7th April 2025, after securing 97.3% in the second round of voting.
The meeting was chaired by the Presiding Member, Hon. Adamu Kasim Osman. The Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, and the Member of Parliament for Ho West Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, both addressed the Assembly Members, calling for unity and a collective commitment to development.
In the first round of voting, Hon. Dusey was unable to meet the required two-thirds majority threshold. Out of the 37 valid votes cast, the nominee polled 23 ‘YES’ votes, while 14 voted ‘NO’. However, in the second round, Hon. Dusey garnered an overwhelming 36 ‘YES’ votes against 1 ‘NO’ vote, securing his confirmation as DCE.
In his address, the District Chief Executive expressed sincere gratitude for the overwhelming support he received. He pledged to run an open-door administration and serve the people of Ho West District with discipline, inclusivity, social justice, and dedication.
Hon. Dusey called for unity and urged all stakeholders to set aside their differences and work together towards the district’s development goals.
Prior to the commencement of the confirmation process, twelve (12) newly appointed Government Appointees were officially sworn in by the District Magistrate to assume their roles as members of the District Assembly.
