
The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) held its meeting on Wednesday, 19th February 2025, to address issues related to Tier 2 and Tier 3 contributions.
In his welcome address, Mr. Prince Semabia, the District Chairman, expressed his gratitude to members for attending such an important meeting despite the challenges faced by staff.
The Regional Trustee of CLOGSAG, Mr. Elorm Edem Abotsi, emphasized the decision made by the leaders of CLOGSAG to embark on a nationwide strike in response to the appointment of Mr. Samuel Adom Botchway as the Registrar of the Births and Deaths Registry, who is considered a politically exposed person. He called on all members to adhere to the directive and stay away from work until further notice. He also assured members that the Association is working on the enhanced salary structure with the government.
In a presentation led by Madam Pearl Donkor, a representative from The Hedge Pension, took staff through Tier 2 and Tier 3 contributions, their benefits, and the qualifying conditions for each. She also explained loan requirements, retirement benefits, exit benefits, and partial withdrawal options.
Madam Evelyn Tsorgbe, was appointed as the Acting District Secretary of CLOGSAG, and Mr. Abiwu Daniel was appointed as the Acting Organizer.
