On January 21, 2025, the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), in collaboration with the Ho West District Assembly, have partially handed over the Water Supply Improvement Project (WSIP) under the Ghana/Spanish Debt Swap for Development Program (DSDP) to five beneficiary communities: Kpale Ga, Kpale Xorse, Saviefe Gborgame, Saviefe Deme, and Saviefe Agorkpo.
The project involves the construction of a fully mechanized water supply system for Anyirawase, Kpale Ga, Kpale Xorse, and Saviefe Agorkpo and a limited mechanized water supply system for Saviefe Gborgame and Saviefa Deme.
These systems are designed to provide sustainable water supply solutions to the beneficiary communities, ensuring access to safe drinking water, significantly reducing the prevalence of water-borne diseases, and improving the overall quality of life for residents.
The CWSA will oversee the operations, maintenance, and management of the water systems in the communities to enhance their efficiency and reliability.
Community members expressed heartfelt gratitude to the CWSA and the Spanish Government for this intervention, acknowledging the positive impact the project would have on their daily lives, particularly in ensuring access to clean and safe water.
The event was attended by the Regional Director of CWSA and staff, the District Coordinating Director and staff of the District Assembly, Chiefs and residents of the beneficiary communities, Assembly Members of the electoral areas, Representatives of the Member of Parliament, and staff of the Ghana National Fire Service.
