HO WEST DISTRICT ASSEMBLY DISTRIBUTES ITEMS TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

The Ho West District Assembly, through the Department of Social Welfare and Community Development, has distributed items to forty-six (46) Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), comprising twenty-six (26) females and twenty (20) males, as part of efforts to empower them economically. The distributed items included deep freezers, industrial sewing machines, fufu grinding machines, cassava grinding machines, spice grinding machines, plastic chairs for hiring, and assistive devices. Some beneficiaries also received educational support.

At a brief ceremony held on Thursday, December 5, 2024, the District Chief Executive (DCE) reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to improving the lives of PWDs in the district. He noted that many PWDs have benefited through the utilization of the 3% allocation from the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) since the beginning of his tenure. The DCE urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items but to use them productively to enhance their livelihoods.

The District Director of Social Welfare and Community Development, Mr. Roland Kumfo, highlighted that rigorous monitoring would be conducted to ensure that the items are being utilized effectively. He also reminded the beneficiaries that the support is a one-time benefit and encouraged them to maximize its impact for sustainable economic empowerment.
