The Physical Planning Department of the Ho West District Assembly on Thursday 24th October, 2024 held an engagement with Dzolo Gborgame community. The meeting was part of efforts to promote sustainable, spatially integrated, and orderly development of human settlements, as well as raise public awareness about building permit procedures.
The District Physical Planning Officer, Mr. Richard Nii Amartey in his presentation emphasized the Department’s responsibility for overseeing all physical settlements within the district. He highlighted the importance of ensuring that buildings and spatial features are properly aligned with regulations and local plans.
He further explained that the Department is tasked with conducting regular inspections to minimize encroachments on roads and waterways, ensuring compliance with standards and guidelines, and verifying that developments conform to local planning regulations.
Mr. Nii Amartey encouraged residents to adopt the habit of acquiring the necessary permits and documentations before embarking on any construction projects to avoid any challenges in the future.
The engagement created an opportunity for community members to express their concerns, which were addressed by the District Physical Planning Officer.
