
On Friday, October 11th, 2024, the Ho West District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau, has inaugurated the newly constituted Amedzofe Local Tourism Board. This initiative seeks to enhance the tourism potential of Amedzofe, a key attraction in the Ho West District, known for its scenic beauty and rich cultural heritage.
The newly inaugurated Board will be chaired by Mrs. Diana Amewu Ayettey, with Mr. MacDonald Bubuama, Dr. Caleb Ofori Boateng, Mr. Ebenezer Komla Azamede, Pastor Samuel Eka Boateng, Dr. Mrs. Joyce Otsyina, Mrs. Mawuli Amehame, Hon. Robert Elikem Ameh, and the Regional Director of the Ghana Tourism Authority as members.
In his address, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau emphasized the vital role that tourism plays in local economic development. He expressed confidence in the Board’s ability to promote Amedzofe’s tourism assets, highlighting that their collective expertise and leadership would be crucial in creating sustainable opportunities for the local community.
The DCE also underscored the importance of peace and stability as essential for successful tourism development. He noted that a peaceful environment attracts both investors and tourists, ensuring their safety and confidence.
Her Worship Comfort Apalayine administered the oath of membership, the oath of secrecy, and the oath of allegiance to the new Board members.
In his remarks, the Chairperson, Mrs. Diana Amewu Ayettey, expressed gratitude on behalf of the members for the confidence reposed in them. She assured everyone that the Board would contribute to the success of Amedzofe’s local tourism while ensuring its protection and preservation.
The Queen Mother of Amedzofe, Onetsitsie Osawa Dzedze Anantisie IV, also expressed her confidence in the Boards ability to advance the local tourism agenda and urged them to work diligently to promote and protect the rich cultural heritage of Amedzofe.
